Robert
L. Goldstein
Robert L. Goldstein is in his twelfth
year of exclusively practicing tax and bankruptcy
law. The firm has office locations in San Francisco,
San Jose, and Sacramento.
Prior to starting his own firm he was the lead attorney
for another tax firm where he trained and supervised
the tax attorneys and staff. Over the course of his
career he has successfully resolved thousands of
tax-related cases, a large portion of which were
offers in compromise.
Success rates of offers submitted and dollar amounts
of accepted offers obviously vary with each offer
in compromise case, but the average accepted offer
the firm has negotiated has been approximately 10
cents on the dollar, including a few cases where
the client has paid only a penny on the dollar.
He has also represented taxpayers in bankruptcy
to discharge millions of dollars in taxes and successfully
represented taxpayers under criminal investigation
by the IRS.
His experience includes successfully arguing before
the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals
and appearing on the radio and local news as a tax
expert.
